Internet, alt.obituaries, 2005-01-08 : In the 1960 election, the Robichaud Liberals defeated the Conservative government of Hugh John Flemming. During his 10 years as premier, Mr. Robichaud gained national stature by turning New Brunswick into a socio-political laboratory. Mr. Robichaud did accept an appointment as chair of the International Joint Commission in 1971. Two years later, he was appointed to the Senate. After 20 years service, he acknowledged that he was "bored with the shenanigans." He retired in 2000 at 75. Louis Joseph Robichaud was born on Oct. 21, 1925. He died on Jan. 6, 2005
