served as chair of the Federal Communications Commission. He is famous for his speech
referring to television as a "vast wasteland". While still maintaining a law practice,
Minow served as the Honorary Consul General of Singapore in Chicago, beginning in
2001. After the war, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1949 from Northwestern
University and a Juris Doctor degree in 1950 from Northwestern University School of
Law. Minow was the Walter Annenberg professor emeritus at Northwestern University.
