Information trouvée : Décès 2004 : As Director of the Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (or Barc) in the port city of Bombay, Ramanna was instrumental in India's conducting its first, highly secret, underground nuclear test at Pokhran in the western Rajasthan desert in May 1974. Raja Ramanna, nuclear physicist: born Tumkur, India 28 January 1925; Director, Bhaba Atomic Research Centre 1972-84; Director, Defence Research and Development Organisation 1978-81; Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission 1984-87; Junior Defence Minister 1990-92; married (one son, two daughters); died Bombay 24 September 2004.
