of Australia) and to the field of immunology. Professor Clancy’s talk will focus on

Information trouvée : Recently retired from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Newcastle - where
he served as Foundation Chair of Pathology - Professor Clancy maintains an active
role in immunological research and practice. He is the Director of the Hunter Immunology
Unit (Hunter Area Pathology Service, Hunter Area Health Service) and Director of the
innovative Immunological research company, Hunter Immunology Pty Ltd (currently developing
oral vaccines to prevent mucosal infection). Alongside his professional medical interests,
Professor Clancy has long been involved in historical research, particularly in the
areas of medical history and cartographic history. An avid antique map collector,
he has written two books on the mapping of Australia and Antarctica (The Mapping of
Terra Australis and So Came They South), has served as the International Secretary
of IMCoS (International Map Collectors Society), curated several History of Cartography
exhibitions and organised international conferences and seminars on the history of
antique maps.
