Information trouvée : Charles Matthew Whish (1795-01-09/1833-04-14). A étudié à l'East India College de
Hertford, au nord de Londres. Ce collège, fondé en 1806, formait les administrateurs
de l'Honorable East India Company. A écrit une grammaire et un dictionnaire en langue
malayalam qui ont été publiés par le College of Fort St George. Auteur de "On the
Hindú Quadrature of the Circle, and the Infinite Series of the Proportion of the Circumference
to the Diameter Exhibited in the Four Sástras, the Tantra Sangraham, Yucti Bháshá,
Carana Padhati, and Sadratnamála" qui fut publié dans les Transactions of the Royal
Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland en 1834. Whish a commencé sa carrière
en tant que registre à la Cour Zillah du sud de Malabar. Il a continué à occuper des
postes plus élevés jusqu'à devenir juge pénal à Cuddapah
