Note publique d'information : This thesis presents a thorough analysis of poisonings caused by plants of the Solanaceae
family, as well as by other vegetation. The central issue of this study lies in the
identification of poisoning cases, the understanding of the toxic mechanisms involved,
and the proposal of appropriate management strategies. The adopted methodology relies
on a comprehensive collection of cases of intoxication by Solanaceae and other plants,
followed by a detailed analysis of symptoms, administered treatments, and observed
outcomes. Case studies were conducted to evaluate different therapeutic approaches
and their effectiveness in managing poisoned patients. The obtained results highlight
the diversity of symptoms presented by patients following intoxication by Solanaceae
and other plants, ranging from gastrointestinal disorders to neurological impairments.
Moreover, promising therapeutic strategies were identified, including the use of activated
charcoal and specific antidotes. These findings offer important insights for improving
protocols in the management of plant poisonings, as well as for the development of
new therapeutic strategies. In summary, this thesis makes a significant contribution
to the understanding of intoxications by Solanaceae and other plants, emphasizing
the importance of rapid and precise case identification, as well as the development
of tailored therapeutic protocols.
