Note publique d'information : À partir d'une enquête de terrain de deux ans d'observation participante auprès d'un
groupe de footballeurs réunis le dimanche matin hors de toutes contraintes institutionnelles,
ce travail analyse les processus d'autonomisation et d'individualisation à l'oeuvre
chez ces jeunes adultes. En effet, pour esperer un envol du moi, ils doivent réussir
à se dégager des contraintes quotidiennes qui pèsent sur eux, ils doivent aussi s'engager
dans la vie du groupe tout en conservant leur autonomie, et enfin valoriser les autres
pour être valorisé soi-même. Aussi centré sur lui soit-il, l'individu a besoin des
autres pour s'épanouir. Mais le groupe peut aussi peser sur chacun des membres qui
doit alors savoir poser des limites à son investissement sous peine de ne plus sentir
l'allégement escompté et risquer alors la déliaison.Efin, l'envol du moi n'est pas
qu'un "imaginaire" collectif, il peut aussi devenir une illusion auto-entretenue,
quand le chemin du but se dérobe ou que les coéquipiers ne prêtent guère attention
à vous. Le maintien du lien social et la construction des identités personnelles fournissent
les cadres de référence théorique de cette thèse.
Note publique d'information : This research, based on a two year participant observation, has analysed the processes
of autonomization and individuation of a group of sunday morning soccer players, free
from institutional constraints. To hope for a rise of the self, theseplayers need
to release themselves from their daily constraints, get involved in group interactions
without giving up their autonomy, and givetheir approval to the others in order to
be approved in return by their fellow members.However self-centred an individual may
be, he still has to rely on the support of others to fulfil his potential.However,
the group can put pressure on its members who then must know to set limits to their
involvement or run the risk of not feeling the alleviation they had hoped for, and
face de -linking. Finally, the rise of the self is not only a collective imaginary
construt but can also become a self-maintained illusion when a player is unable to
score goals or is ignored by fellow members.The theoretical framework of this thesis
is based on the maintaining of social links and the construction of individual ego-identities.
